Hopefully once it fixed I can unblock the "hard blocked" issue in FossaPup-64 9. I found an old Realtek TRL8188FTV Wireless LAN 802.11n mini USB 2.0 Network Adapter in the odds and sods drawer which I'm using while going through the pages of different steps to get the wireless button back online. This network card is quite old and has reached the end of life but many laptop manufacturers still use this card and it does need a driver to operate correctly. ** Further update - It seems like I've tracked down the issue down to the HP wireless button it looks like down to the classic "opps Windows has fecked it" doing an update procedure and your probably have a better chance of it working if you rollback it off a cliff then use the rollback to a pervious install version. The Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 is a wireless network adapter manufactured by intel. I've got a few days off work so will dig deep and investigate it further on why this has happened *Update - It seems like it my wireless adaptor has given up the ghost in Windows now too as I can no longer access Wi-Fi and the wireless button is permanently orange. I will go through each one by one and report my findings Not sure if this applies so any other Intel Adv-N Centrino chipset with similar specs, but I just wanted to post this in case anyone runs into the same problem.Thank you guys for all your helpful ideas and solutions to help me getting to the root of the problem. Now I won't take to much credit for this fix, i did find it on Mint forums but I tried several fixes over several hours to get it to work. I fired up and BAM, hit 117Mbps/11.82Mbps easy. conf file for the "iwlwifi" driver that the kernel uses:Ģ. I literally tried every solution I could find, and the FIX that worked for me wasn't to install the Intel Firmware, or even make ANY changes to my router. In the next line with '>' I typed my password, hit enter. Following Sergey's blog I ran the following command, replacing MyWiFi with my network SSID.

Which wasn't right, because this card should be capable of 300MBit/s.(theoretically, and my internet is rated at 100down/10up) It was connecting to the "N" network router, but wasn't getting the higher speeds. Provide Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi Adapter Driver for SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 11 SP1 (2.6.32.36 Kernel) (64-bit) drivers. If you run the following command you can see that the driver was loaded correctly.

I have the same card Intel 6205 abgn card, with a similar Dell E6420 and ran a and I was getting around 56Mbit/s.

So a while back a user made a post about windows having a faster wifi connection under windows vs Arch.
